Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, who started on the pole position, has received a massive setback at the Singapore Grand Prix after a pit-stop accident. Massa drove away with the gasoline rig and hose attached to his car during Sunday’s race. The apparatus tore off its mooring and spewed gasoline in the air as it trailed Massa’s car.

The Brazilian stopped further down in the pit as crew members rushed to yank out the hose. After losing time, Massa rejoined the race but was in 18th position. He got a drive-through penalty for unsafe release after almost colliding with another car while leaving the pit.

Hollywood legend Paul Newman has lost his battle against cancer. He died on Friday aged 83.

Jeff Sanderson , his publicist, said the star, who was nominated for Academy Awards 10 times and won an Oscar in 1987 for his role in The Colour of Money, died after a long battle with cancer at his farmhouse near Westport, Connecticut. He was surrounded by his family and close friends.

The Photokina opens its doors in Cologne, showing off the latest state-of-the-art technology the camera industry has to offer and is the world’s biggest trade fair for the photographic and imaging industries. Innovations include a smile shutter function, which only takes a picture when the motives are smiling. Further, a make-up shutter function was introduced, which digitally improves skin tone and texture to instantly photoshop the faces of the people in front of the lense. Be sure that there is more to come.

Audi break their long tradition of turbo-charged S and RS models with their new 2009 Audi S4. For the first time ever with civil Audis, a supercharger will be built onto the V6 FSI of the new sports car. The last two versions of the S4 featured a V8 FSI with 343 horses pulled from capacity, so there is a question mark on why the manufacturer of the most popular family sports cars downgraded to the new supercharged V6 FSI with only 333 horses.

The Porsche Panamera is quickly approaching its March 2009 reveal at the Geneva Motor Show, with engineers putting the final touches on the four-door supercar. On September 15, Porsche released a teaser shot of the Panamera’s characteristically Porsche nose.
