How To Instantly Unlock Your iPhone for Internet Tethering

Richard | June 23, 2009

BENM.at

Did you wait for the iPhone OS 3.0 update just because you wanted to hook up your iPhone to your Mac or PC and tether along the way? Did you go through the nasty process of updating just to find out that tethering was disabled with your carrier? Well, here you go:

Richard Lai explains on his blog, how easy it is to install MobileConfig-files on your iPhone for (maybe) all worldwide carriers. It’s 1-2-3, tethering enabled! Just visit http://help.benm.at/ directly from your iPhone and you are good to go. It works great; I’m writing this being connected via bluetooth. Thank you, Richard Lai!

iPhone 3G – [UPDATE] iPhone 2.0 Software Cracked Already

Richard | July 11, 2008

Today is the day. July 11, 2008. iPhone day. App store day. MobileMe day. Waiting in line day. As for this matter, we are reporting constantly about news, happenings, features, and so on and so forth… Stay tuned!

[update 12:00 GMT +1] The friendly guys at iPhone Dev Team took the cake and already cracked the iPhone 2.0 software version. The first one took a couple of months, but this one was actually unlocked before Apple released it to the public.

- Gizmodo

“Now that the official iPhone OS 2.0 is out, the iPhone Dev Team will release their Pwnage tool for everyone to unlock and jailbreak their iPhones soon, although the specific date/time is not firm yet. It may not be as interesting as before—since most countries now have the iPhone and it will be impossible to buy without doing a contract first—but people looking to install unsigned applications and buy pay-as-you-go cards while traveling—instead of roaming—will find it very useful.” – iPhone Dev Team Portal

[update 07:43 GMT +1] Now, that the time has come, we are waiting for the oh so usual unboxing ceremonies, such as:
