Massa Rips Out Gasoline Rig During Pitstop in Singapore GP
Richard | September 28, 2008Ferrari’s Felipe Massa, who started on the pole position, has received a massive setback at the Singapore Grand Prix after a pit-stop accident. Massa drove away with the gasoline rig and hose attached to his car during Sunday’s race. The apparatus tore off its mooring and spewed gasoline in the air as it trailed Massa’s car.
The Brazilian stopped further down in the pit as crew members rushed to yank out the hose. After losing time, Massa rejoined the race but was in 18th position. He got a drive-through penalty for unsafe release after almost colliding with another car while leaving the pit.
